How to Make Perfect Cold Brew

A simple guide to a smooth, strong, and incredibly refreshing concentrate.

Cold brewing is a slow, gentle extraction method that produces a coffee concentrate with very low acidity and a naturally sweet, smooth flavor. It’s the perfect high-caffeine base for iced coffee that can last all week. Follow these simple steps to get started.

What You'll Need

  • A Large Jar or Pitcher (e.g., a 32 oz Mason jar)
  • A Filter (cheesecloth, a fine-mesh sieve, or a dedicated cold brew filter)
  • 1 cup (about 85g) of VitaBrewX Coffee (coarse grind)
  • 5 cups (about 1200g) of Cold, Filtered Water

The Simple Steps🧊☕

  • 1. Combine Coffee & Water

Start with a coarse grind, similar to the texture of breadcrumbs. Add your ground coffee to the jar, then slowly pour the cold, filtered water over the grounds. Stir gently with a long spoon to ensure all the grounds are saturated.

  • 2. Steep Patiently

Cover the container and let it steep for 12 to 16 hours. You can leave it on your counter at room temperature or in the fridge. Steeping longer will result in a stronger, more caffeinated concentrate.

  • 3. Strain Slowly

After steeping, it’s time to filter. Slowly pour the coffee concentrate through your filter and into a clean container. Pro Tip: Don't press or squeeze the grounds, as this can add bitter flavors. Discard the grounds.

  • 4. Store & Serve

Your concentrate is ready! Store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks. To serve, dilute it with water or milk. A good starting point is a 1:2 ratio (one part concentrate to two parts water/milk) but adjust to your taste. Pour over ice and enjoy.

The Best Coffee for This Method
