Whether you use a classic drip machine or a manual pour-over, the goal is the same: a clean, balanced, and delicious cup. Our coffees are blended to shine with these methods, delivering our signature smooth strength. Here are a few key steps to elevate your daily brew.
What You'll Need
- Drip Machine or Pour-Over Brewer
- Paper Filter
- 20g of VitaBrewX Coffee (medium grind)
- 320g Hot Water (195-205°F / 90-96°C)
- For Pour-Over: a gooseneck kettle and a scale are recommended.
The Simple Steps
- 1.The Golden Ratio⚖️
We recommend starting with a 1:16 ratio (1 gram of coffee to 16 grams of water). For a standard cup, that's about 20g of coffee to 320g of water. Feel free to adjust to your taste.
- 2. The Right Grind🔧
A medium grind is the perfect starting point, resembling the texture of coarse sea salt. This allows for an even extraction without clogging the filter.
- 3. Rinse Your Filter (The Pro Tip)
A quick but crucial step: Place the paper filter in your brewer and rinse it with hot water. This removes any papery taste and preheats your brewer for a more stable brew. Don't forget to discard the rinse water!
- 4. Brew & Enjoy☕
Add your ground coffee and start your brew. For a manual pour-over, aim for a total brew time of around 3 to 3.5 minutes. For an automatic drip machine, just press start and enjoy the aroma.
